Our quarterly swap meets in 2010 will be held at our regular meetings on March 11th, June 10th and September 11th Early Spring is an active time for our members working on layouts. So, check your closets and shelves for model railroad items that you no longer need and turn them into cash!
If you’re new to this event, here’s how it works: we’ll set up as many tables as needed to display the things we would like to sell to our fellow club members and visitors. Each person’s display area will be separated by blue masking tape, and a sign with the seller’s name will be posted. Each seller will place a price on the items to be sold, and in the spirit of all good swap meets, this price will be considered negotiable unless it is clearly stated otherwise. The club will provide the tape and name signs, but the seller must furnish all price tags.
We will have the tables set up at the beginning of the meeting with help from the participating sellers. As this will be a very informal event, anyone desiring to purchase an item should contact the seller before or after the meeting, or during the extended break.
So clean out that basement, clear out those closets and let’s make this the best swap meet yet. Whether it’s a single item or a bunch of stuff… we’ll help you sell it. Even if you don’t think anyone could possibly use it, remember the old saying: “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure!”
